Below is a wonderful questionnaire designed by New America along with NAEYC.  

If you are interested in learning more about the structures of governance in your State, consider forming a small committee and together, seek the answers to these questions.  Doing so will not only familiarize you to the powers that inform and create policies and its funding sources, but it will save you time as you continue advocating for your issues by addressing your ideas and concerns to the correct source and with a greater understanding.
